SERVING Offer service but dont be intrusive. If the Free are conversing, subtle hints are better than a slave screaming across the House. Ask to approach in the same passage if possible.
Ask how you may be of service, and repeat order back to the One you serve. If something isnt clear, such as temperature, ask how they wish it to be served.~* POST 1*~Leave the Frees feet and move to where vessels are stored, check, clean and polish. Dont use your hair. Move to where the beverage/food is stored, if chilled it could be anywhere, from a cold store, a stream or in a chill pit. If heated, it could be boiling over a hearth fire, over a brazier or in a kettle over a fire. ( read EVERY Homes pages to be sure ) If making a beverage/meal warm from scratch, set it heating while you collect other vitals for the serve, for example, milks, sugars, creams, salts, side dishes etc.~*POST 2*~You can test the heat of a warm beverage by lifting the vessel to your cheek. Finish preparing and return with the beverage/food to the One you serve. Once back at the Frees feet, kneel correctly in standing with your status and the Free you serve. Always tower before a Free Woman. *NOTE* If the food/beverage serve is detailed with a lot of various aspects, for example a meal with various fruits or vegetables and also including a beverage, your post SHOULD be cut in two so as not to flood the screen. Remember, 6 lines is plenty in one post!~*POST 3*~Pour any beverages that have been asked to be prepared at the Frees feet (black wine, bazi tea etc) prepare them as the Free wishes. Do NOT offer to prove, if a Free wants their beverage/meal proven, they will tell you to do so. Never kiss the rim of a Free Persons drinking vessel. *NOTE* Removing the cork from a Bota with your teeth is done at your OWN risk. Many Free dislike this practise and it is to be discouraged in new slaves.
Offer up the beverage/food with extended uplifted arms and bowed head. The MOST important part of your serve is to be ORIGINAL. Dont spend your time trying to mimic someone else, We've seen it all before. Overly long posts are unnecessary, the maximum for each post is 6 lines. Most serves can be done in three or four posts excluding the beg to serve and the offering. Learn to think fast, there is nothing worse than waiting ten minutes between posts.
